Northern California Disco Dream Wedding
Dakota and Justin threw the disco party of a lifetime with bright florals, mirror balls, vibrant colors and to top it all off a dachshund in a dashing little suit. Nestled in Millville, Northern California we kicked off the summer wedding season in style with this retro inspired outdoor wedding. I love being a wedding photographer, truly I love love, but the details are what make me so passionate about this job of mine. The stolen intimate moments in between dances and the welcome signs I know you worked on for months and hand lettered yourself, these are the details I live for and this wedding was a dream come true because of ‘em. From the disco décor right down to the thrifted jewelry it was so much fun to witness the hard work these two put into making their day exceptional. If you’re a Redding local you know May can be a tricky month to plan an outdoor event, it might be rainy and overcast or it might be 101 degrees and your groom is sweating through his suit. Northern California is definitely one of the most beautiful places you could possibly host a wedding, but our sweet NorCal home does like to keep you on your toes. However May 14, 2022 couldn’t have been a better day for this sweet couple to tie the knot. I guess Nor Cal just knew it was an important day to open up the skies with perfect sunshine for their bridal portraits and just enough of a breeze to keep everyone chilled out while taking all the family formal photos. D & J’s celebration was filled with love and laughter, sweet families gathered together and guests that definitely understood the call for “retro classy” dress on the invites. Love is in the details. The way his face lit up during their first look, the dance under twinkling lights, the thrifted furniture finds, the puppy dog that adored them both- this wedding celebrated love and was absolutely created with love. I may be biased but I genuinely think I get to meet the most amazing couples and work in the most amazing place, I love to travel but Northern California will always have my heart as a wedding photographer. Her mountains and trees and sunsets and rolling fields will always be what sets this home apart from any other.
