A Timeless Wedding day | The Restoration House. Redding, CA
In Northern California just above beautiful Whiskeytown lays a hidden Tuscan estate, an homage to Italian architecture exactly as you’d imagine, stone, pillars, stucco, spiral staircases and huge windows to the view of the valley below. The Restoration House is a tucked away treasure and hosted a dream day for my sweet couple. This wedding dripped elegance, glam and grainy in between moments. We had on and off rainstorms all morning that stayed at bay for the ceremony and had just enough sunlight filtering through to give them a massive arched rainbow right over the top of their vows. It just doesn’t get better than that. I cherish all my couples and these two were no exception- they simply couldn’t contain their love for each other and it spilled over onto every guest, into every detail and couldn’t help but be captured by my lens. Beth a stunning princess and Mac clearly her perfect other half prince. I’ve shot my fair share of rainy wedding days as a photographer, each one feels christened and special, as I’ve mentioned they even say it’s “lucky.” The clouds gave the perfect moody scene and we even got a touch of golden hour thanks to that California sun prevailing to peek in on the day. It felt like we were all whisked away to a European villa for a black tie affair- I still can’t believe I get to call my beautiful California home, she’s the ultimate chameleon. I’ve shot hundreds of different locations in my career as a wedding photographer; unique terrains, venues, forests and cities all within the golden state. I love exploring and roaming our great nation but something always brings me back here to days like this.
